Skin-prick nutrition (Vitamin facial)
The aging process can be cruel to our skin. Between sun damage and progressive collagen loss, the skin loses its plumpness and resiliency. Skin-prick nutrition infuses the dermal layer of the skin with a potent cocktail of vitamins and anti-oxidants to rejuvenate and revitalise.
People who have had skin-prick nutrition describe their skin as firm, radiant, youthful and glowing. The treatment is usually performed over an initial series of one session per week for 4 weeks. Results are then maintained by twice-a-year touch up sessions.
Skin-prick nutrition is a wonderful compliment to any of the other skin treatments we offer including, chemical peels, Botulinum Toxin and dermal fillers. However, it also stands on it's own as a powerful anti-aging therapy.
In the same way, the skin can also be nourished with micro-injections of hyaluronic acid using Restylane Vital to restore plumpness and volume of the skin. Typically, the initial treatment course consists of 3 sessions, 1 month apart then 3 - 4 times yearly for maintenance.
Both treatments can be carried out on the face, back of the hands, neck and décolleté area.

What does it involve?
Skin-prick nutrition, in the treatment of ageing skin aims to replace minerals, vitamins and amino acids that are found in lower levels in skin, which lessen as we age.
It involves the injection of a specially prepared mixture of medications, placed just millimetres under the skin into the problematic area. Just a "drop" of solution is used at each injection site.
The idea is that you can get these active substances to the site requiring treatment by directly injecting them there.

What happens during the procedure?
Multiple injections using a very fine needle are administered immediately beneath the surface of the skin. It will help to improve circulation, replace lost vitamins, minerals and amino acids, or boost levels of hyaluronic acid.
Treatment is not painful but slight discomfort will be experienced. If you do find it uncomfortable, a topical anaesthetic can be applied prior to treatment.
… and during repeat procedures?
Micro-injections are given every couple of weeks for two to three treatment courses. Some individuals may require a longer initial course of treatment. When the desired effects are achieved, you will require a maintenance program every few months or so.
What is the recovery time?
After the treatment you can normally return to day-to-day activities. Possible side effects are small bruises, which vanish in a few days, and a little swelling in the injected area, which remains for about 12 - 36 hours.
