Mesotherapy
For Localised Fat and Cellulite
Mesotherapy is an injectable treatment that is lesser known in the UK but is very popular on the Continent that can help to reduce cellulite and areas of localised fat.
It is estimated that 90% of women suffer from cellulite or localised fat to varying degrees, particularly on the hips, thighs and bottom where fluid containing proteins and waste builds up in and around fatty tissue and solidifies, resulting in the dreaded lumpy 'orange peel' effect.
Men too are often troubled by an area of localised body fat such as waist, stomach etc. that despite exercise and a good diet will simply not 'budge'. Some men even suffer from cellulite.
For some women, cellulite is only noticeable when the area is 'pinched' but for others it can be a terribly visible and painful condition that often affects confidence and daily life and it can affect women of all ages irrespective of their weight.
In women, fat cells on the lower half of the body store fat around 6 times more readily than those on the upper half. They also release them around six times less easily so this can make weight loss from the lower half terribly difficult if not almost impossible, even with a sensible diet and an active lifestyle.
Also, stubborn areas of localised fat such as under eye fat-pads, double chin and fatty jawline can be treated with Simildiet Mesotherapy products.
Q/ What is Mesotherapy?
A/ Mesotherapy is almost a science of it's own and was originally a medical technique developed by a French doctor, Dr Michel Pistor, in the 1950s to treat such conditions as rheumatology, vascular diseases and poor circulation.
In recent years, it has become more and more popular for treating cellulite and localised fat, especially on the Continent and in particular in France where Mesotherapy is extremely popular.
Q/ What does Mesotherapy involve?
A/ Mesotherapy involves a series of micro-injections - injecting very small measured amounts of different compounds just under the skin to help 'break down' the cellulite and trapped fat, improve circulation and lymphatic and venous drainage.
The products we use are from Laboratories Simildiet in Spain and are homeopathic products that are FDA approved in the USA.
Q/ How long does the treatment take and how long can it last?
A/ Each treatment takes around 30-45 minutes and is generally not painful and you can return to your normal daily routine or work. A topical anaesthetic crème can be applied if preferred. Treatment is usually given weekly or two-weekly over a period of about 4 to 8 weeks. Even clients treated under the eyes report that they did not feel anything!
Q/ How long can the results last?
A/ The treatment can be lasting and results are measurable - areas of fat can be reduced or eliminated and areas of cellulite can become smoother and less painful or tender. When the desired effects are achieved a maintenance treatment is generally required.
